Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find my appliance's wattage?

Wattage is usually listed on a sticker or plate on the back or bottom of the appliance. Look for "Input" or "Power" followed by a number and "W". If only Amps (A) are listed, multiply Amps by Volts (V) to get Watts.

Why does my bill differ from this estimate?

Actual cost can differ because appliances cycle on and off, tariffs are tiered, taxes and fees vary, and real usage may not match the selected hours.

Is standby power significant?

Standby power can matter for devices that stay plugged in all day. Small loads can add up across many devices over a month or year.

Methodology & Trust

How the appliance cost estimate works

Energy use is estimated as watts divided by 1,000, multiplied by hours used. Cost is estimated by multiplying kilowatt-hours by the selected electricity rate.

Standby power adds a small continuous load when enabled. CO2 impact uses a broad grid-emissions assumption and should be treated as directional.

Real bills can differ because many appliances cycle, use variable power, or run on tiered tariffs with taxes and fixed charges.
